YES Bank introduces minimum spending criteria to access airport lounge benefits

YES Bank's cardholders will soon see revised terms to access the domestic lounge. These changes are applicable to all the YES Bank credit cards.

This follows similar changes that credit cardholders at HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, SBI Card and a few others saw in 2023, especially when it came to curtailing airport lounge access within India. They had introduced minimum spending criteria on some of the credit cards to be eligible for airport lounge access.

Spending criteria on airport lounge access

Effective from April 1, YES Bank credit cardholders will be able to unlock complimentary domestic lounge access by spending Rs 10,000 or more in a calendar quarter. It means that spending made in the preceding quarter will unlock access for the subsequent quarter.

For instance, to be eligible for complimentary lounge access in the April-June 2024 quarter, you need to spend a minimum of Rs 10,000 between  December 21, 2023 to March 20, 2024 quarter. Similarly, to access domestic lounge in the January-March 2024 quarter, you need to spend a minimum of Rs 10,000 between September 21, 2024 to December 20, 2024. The spending of Rs 10,000 or more should be done in the following quarters to unlock the benefits of domestic airport lounge access.

The number of complimentary lounge access remain unchanged, subject to meeting the minimum spending criteria of Rs 10,000 or more in a calendar quarter.

The bank has informed about the revised terms in the domestic lounge access to the cardholders through an email communication.
