G20 played a big role in uplifting India's image globally: S Jaishankar

India emerged as a friend and consensus builder in the world following its successful G-20 presidency, stated the External Affairs Minister.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar reiterated the importance of the recently held G20 Summit in uplifting India's image globally.

Jaishankar added that India's G-20 presidency was a "notable period" in the country's diplomatic history. He was speaking at News18's Rising Bharat Summit in New Delhi.

India emerged as a friend and consensus builder in the world following its successful G-20 presidency, stated the External Affairs Minister.

The foreign minister also stressed on India's commitment to cooperation with diverse partners, transitioning from non-alignment to vishwa mitra — a friend to the world.  This approach is exemplified by India's active engagement across global forums.

He also expressed satisfaction with Indian diplomacy's performance post-G20, highlighting  the significance of the Delhi Declaration in shaping India's foreign policy and influence on the global stage.

He also emphasized that Indian diplomacy has achieved its goals following the G20 summit, with the Delhi Declaration representing a key component of India's diplomatic strategy.
